Our Authors

A small press still has a big job to do. That's why we've begun with only a few projects: We believe that it's better to do a great job at fewer things than it would be to stretch ourselves too thin. As we add projects, we will continue to add our author profiles here.
Lori Verni-Fogarsi
Lori Verni-Fogarsi began her writing career in an unusual way: With a newsletter she prepared monthly for her small business--a dog training school! Over time, she became well known for not only her dog behavior knowledge and writing skills, but also her business acumen. She was approached by magazines and newspapers requesting articles on pet behavior, small business, and parenting, as well as universities and advanced placement programs requesting seminars on pets and business marketing.

Her articles have appeared in a multitude of publications including New York Parent, The Pet Gazette, Franchise Advantage, and many more. She has worked as a journalist and columnist for the Heartland Publications family of newspapers, and has taught seminars at Nassau Community College, North Carolina State University, and many private and corporate venues.

As an author, she has been a featured guest/speaker in a multitude of major media including (just to name a few):
  • Lifetime Women's Network Balance Your Life Road Tour: Live speaking presentation
  • My Carolina Today Show: Featured guest
  • Boston Globe's Mom Forum: Live online chats
  • Many more! See more media coverage and professional reviews here.
Verni-Fogarsi's first book, Everything You Need to Know About House Training Puppies and Adult Dogs, was published in 2005 and has been widely acclaimed in its genre. We are pleased to announce that we will be releasing an updated and revised version in 2013.

Recently, Verni-Fogarsi completed her first novel, Momnesia, which we released on March 16, 2012. A fun and feisty read, we're excited to bring you this funny, yet thought-provoking story of a suburban mom trying to find balance between her "momminess" and her "sexiness." With custom artwork and opportunities for lots of interesting discussion, it has received great reviews and been a big hit with book clubs, discussion groups, and more.

Currently, Lori V. Fogarsi is hard at work on her next novel, "Gramnesia," about a couple of almost-empty-nesters who are faced with the sudden appearance of a pregnant teenage daughter they never knew existed.

Lori V. Fogarsi is a happily married mother of two and step mom of two more. Originally a native New Yorker, she now divides her time between Raleigh, North Carolina and Lake Gaston, Virginia. She has two cats, both rotten.

Now accepting ARC requests for "Gramnesia," Lori V. Fogarsi's next novel, which we're releasing in Spring 2013. Book reviewers & media, please click here to request your ARC!
