| If you're a writer inquiring about direct publishing, please understand that we are a very small press and receive an overwhelming amount of queries.
With the changes in today's publishing arena, please only contact us if you understand that in today's landscape, authors are generally required to make an investment of their own time and money in order for a project to be successful. (We understand that this is off-putting... we encourage you to land a major publisher if this doesn't work for you. And even then, expect to work hard at publicity.)
With that said, we may be open to working with the right author on the right project. If we haven't scared you off, please make note of the following guidelines before contacting us about your project:
- Your manuscript must be complete, polished, and "ready to go" at 100,000 words or less.
- We are not interested in sci-fi, fantasy, or anything supernatural of any kind. This includes but is not limited to ghosts, vampires, or characters who have ESP.
- The only genres we might consider include commercial nonfiction, women's fiction, literary fiction, or a gripping mystery.
- You are willing to make a commitment of time and effort into promoting your work alongside our staff.
- You have at least $5,000 to invest in the initial launch campaign.
- If your project meets these criteria, please send your one page query, one page synopsis, and first three pages to our mailing address. Yes, seriously. If you are not motivated enough to print five pages and put them in an envelope, chances are we wouldn't work well together anyway. Please be sure to include your e-mail address and phone number.
- Please do not phone our office (unless we've replied and asked you to).
- We promise, we will reply to you whether we're interested or not (as long as you've followed the guidelines).
